Even In My Dreams

[..] Wel, JRV JAMS is a one man
band. Me! Jeremy. All of my music has been recorded with N-Track
Studio. I use two Sure SM57's, and a Peavey Diamond for my microphones.
I have a three channel mixer I use for my drums.
I play on a four piece with about 8 different cymbals. I play a
Gibson, Epiphone SG, with a Fender amp. I have a Fender Jazz Bass
I use, and a Takamine acoustic guitar as well.
My recording procedure is quite simple. First I do a scratch track
with all the different parts and count offs. I then go back over
it all with each instrument. Guitar, Bass, Drums, Lead Guitar, and
finally Vocals. Listen to it all as a whole and figure out what
needs to be changed. Usually I find quite bit. When I get it all
down, I EQ all the tracks and apply whatever effects fit the mood.
Then hopefully I have a finished product that I am happy with.
As in what I listen to... well, I listen to a lot of Frank Zappa.
I
like Gwar, Slayer, King Crimson, Tool, Elliot Smith, David Grismon,
Rush, and much more. I really like just about anything. My two older
brothers both play an instrument and was and is a constant in my
life. I try to soak up as much as possible when it comes to other
musicians.

(..)
I don't really have
much to say. I always try to make the final mixdown sound really
good in my car. Most the time home stereos make it sound good
even if it sounds bad. Make the recording to what you want it
to sound like.
Besides that... just have fun... when your going on another
pack of cigarettes and your eyes are barely open......go to
bed, mix it down the next day... I don't know... just have fun. |
