End of the Line

The highland band first formed in July of 1999 when Joe's cousin moved to the city where he was born and raised and it was called the IMTA band. After a short time and one song recording, one of the members left leaving Jon Sheffield and Joe Fussinger, at that time it was renamed the Highland band. The song writing style of Sheffield/Fussinger is diverse but simple and to the point, applying the philosophy that there is beauty in not over-producing or complicating songs. Both Jon Sheffield and Joe Fussinger had parents that grew up on Highland Ave. in Fort Mitchell, Ky.hence the band name. Tips and Tricks from The Highland band using n-Track Studio.

(..) We started writing songs and recording them with a 4 track mixer which limited us in what we could do. One day the mixer went down, being fairly old and all it was only a matter of time. My cousin Jon found your site one day when surfing the web, we downloaded the trial version and then laid down our first song we wrote by recording the guitar track then followed with my drum track and added vocals after that along with a bass guitar track. We found it so easy before we knew it we had 12 tracks to our first song. He immediatley bought n-track and I also went home and bought N-track from your site. Now when we write we simply sit at Jon's place, write a song, get the words down, record usually with an acoustic guitar which we use as the first track, then he records the lead guitar track, followed by a bass guitar track all while listening to the previous recorded tracks and then we record the lead vocals, he will then email me the tracks we recorded at his place and when i get home i add the drum track, and backup vocals or whatever else we feel the song needs. I also found it is very easy to insert special effects that the instruments we play can not create. This is evident in 2 of our songs we recorded using N-Track, those songs are Thats my girl and Innocent eyes. I inserted background sounds at the beginning of both songs which were so easy to do with this program. We now spend our free time sitting back, writing original songs and then recording them, a process that in the past would take a couple weekends at best now can be done in an afternoon. We wrote and recorded nine songs in a very, very short time and now have our first CD available on mp3.com at highland. Most songs are in the style of 70's style Rock and the instruments we mainly use are acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric Bass, and Drums.
